Don't be so (adjective)

Use this when you don't like the way that someone is acting:

Don't be so lazy.

Don't be so shy.

Don't be so wasteful.

(someone) is being closed-minded

A "closed-minded" person dislikes things that are new and different. Calling someone "closed-minded" sounds negative:

I can't stand closed-minded, intolerant people!

You can also say that a person is "being closed-minded" if they have an opinion that you think is old and incorrect:

Daddy, you're being closed-minded. Almost everyone these days lives with their boyfriend or girlfriend before getting married.
