“I'm just gonna kick back with a cold drink and watch the game. You?”
It's Friday afternoon at work. A coworker asks what you're planning on doing this weekend. You're just going to watch sports at home, so this is your answer.
“She went from sales assistant to Vice President in less than 6 years.”
The vice president of your company rose to her position quickly. You are telling someone about it. You say this because you're impressed.
“Actually, Mark, can you do me a huge, huge favor? Could you run down to the convenience store and pick up a bag of ice?”
You're having a dinner party at your apartment. You're getting ready and you realize that you forgot to get ice for drinks. You're too busy with cooking, so you ask one of your guests who arrived early for a favor.
“I'm headed out to grab some lunch. You want me to pick you up something?”
It's lunch time at work, and you want to go out to get something to eat at a restaurant. Your coworker seems to be working hard, so you say this offering to bring her some food back.
“You didn't even ask me how my day was!”
You're at home with your husband on a weeknight. You're mad at him because he's been reading a book and hasn't paid attention to you at all. He sees this and asks what's wrong. You answer.
