A complicated lesson made simpler

Yesterday's lesson was long and complicated:

Just as you started to think we were finally headed toward an economic recovery, unemployment goes up again.

So here's the audo for this lesson, broken into smaller pieces:

Sometimes it helps to break up complicated sentences into smaller pieces. But if I actually read single words or smaller groups of words out loud, it will change how I pronounce them. So instead I broke up the original audio file into pieces.

Listening to English sentences this way can help you to listen more carefully to the actual sounds, instead of the words. You should try hard to focus on the actual sounds that you hear in order to improve your pronunciation.
