Where do I start?
There are some great questions on the "Post Your Questions" page. One user just posted a question that I had never thought about:
I feel a little lost. There are is too much information, and I am so excited to learn everything but I don't really know where to start. Wherever I look I find new links and pages and phrases. Any advice on how to start to learn the right way and not miss anything?
It's a good point. There are a lot of pages on this site - over 900 daily lessons, plus blog posts, links to other sites, explanations of language learning terms, and so on. It's a lot to take in. So where do you start?
A suggested study method
The important thing is to start slow and to make sure to review. Here's how I would use PhraseMix each day if I were using it to study a language:
- Skip the newest lessons that you haven't read yet.
- Scroll down the home page and review the lessons that you've read already.
- If you can't remember something about one of the old lessons, click through to re-read the explanation. Leave comments on it if you have any questions or have found a good example of one of the phrases taught in that lesson.
- Come back to read the new lessons for that day. If the new lesson has links to other pages, follow the links and read those pages.
- Go out on the Internet or out into the real world and do something using English. Use the phrases you learned on PhraseMix if you find the right situation. If not, don't worry about it.
- Come back and repeat steps 1-5 again the next day. Do it every day, not just once a week.
But this is just my suggestion. I'm not actively using PhraseMix to learn. So I'm curious to know what you, the readers, think instead. Does this seem like a good way to get started using PhraseMix?
