(something) is jammed

"Jammed" means "stuck". Specifically, it means to be stuck between things.

We use the word "jammed" to talk about things like:

  • getting your finger jammed in a closing door
  • a piece of paper being jammed in a machine
  • cars being jammed in traffic

In all of these situations, the word "stuck" would also work.
